
Christine Rogers, 93 of Carmel, IN, passed away peacefully at her home on July 1, 2017. She was born February 10, 1924 in Smithville, TN to William Monroe and Clara (West) Russell. She was the last of their surviving children. She spent 57 years married to Neeland Rogers, the love of her life, who preceded her in death in 2011. She came to Indianapolis from McMinnville, TN to start work at Western Electric on the advice of a dear friend who happened to be related to her future husband. She retired from Western Electric as an inspector of telephones in 1985 after 33 years of service. She was a life member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She and her husband, Neeland, attended Epworth Methodist Church for many years.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Tony) Johnson, 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Powell, Michael (Heather) Powell, Brent Johnson and Stephen Johnson, 5 great grandchildren, Aspen, Chase & Ava Handy and August & Cypress Powell, a sister-in-law, Mary Russell and several nieces and nephews.
She will be missed, but lovingly remembered for her generosity, kind and loving heart, the wonderful stories she shared about her family and beautiful smile. Her greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very proud of all of them.

Graveside services will be at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN at a later date
